<p>A rotatable tubing hanger for suspending a tubing string within a wellbore at a surface tubing rotator. The rotatable tubing hanger includes a tubular mandrel with a shell removably attached to one end of the tubular mandrel. The other end of the tubular mandrel is configured to connect to the tubing string. Preferably, the tubular mandrel is configured to be connected to and disconnected from the tubing string using a power tong device, while the shell is removed from the tubular mandrel. After the tubular mandrel is connected to or disconnected from the tubing string, the shell may preferably be attached back on to the one end of the tubular mandrel. Preferably the shell may be threadedly attached to the one end of the tubular mandrel. The shell defines a tubing rotator engagement portion which is shaped and configured to securely engage with the tubing rotator when the rotatable tubing hanger is received therein. The top end of the shell is adapted to remain rotationally stationary when the rotatable tubing hanger is rotated within the tubing rotator. Preferably, the top end of the shell is rotationally separated from the shell body by means of a sliding and/or bearing action.</p> |
