HYDROGEN FERMENTATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen fermentation method in which glycerin to be produced as a by-product when a fatty acid methyl ester is produced by an esterification reaction is treated simply and used as a source for producing hydrogen and consequently which contributes to protection of the environment and effective application of resources. SOLUTION: The hydrogen fermentation method is characterized in that the glycerin to be produced as the by-product at a step of subjecting grease and alcohol to transesterification is mixed with stock farming-related waste based on animal dung under an anaerobic fermentation condition to produce hydrogen. The stock farming-related waste is composed of one or more of cow dung, fowl droppings and hog dung. The water content of a mixture of the glycerin to be produced as the by-product with the stock farming-related waste is≥70 wt.%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
