MANAGING CONTEXTUAL INFORMATION FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS

Contextual information for wireless communications is managed in terms of management objects (MO) using device management (DM) protocol support. Contextual information management is performed by determining a need to change from an old configuration to a new configuration, retrieving profile information necessary to make a decision about the new configuration, and making a decision about the new configuration based upon the retrieved profile information. The new configuration may include information about access technology and changes in one or more defined profiles.
