<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device which allows the user to correctly recognize contents of information stored in a memory device, has a direct printing function, and is improved in usability, and to provide an output method implemented in the printing device. <P>SOLUTION: According to the printing device, when a panel display function is selected by the user, a reduced image of an image data file 42a stored in a memory card 42 and a substitute image corresponding to image data are displayed, and therefore the user can recognize whether the image data file 42a is printable or not. The user does not instruct execution of printing of a file that is not printable, but instructs execution of printing after canceling security of the file if necessary, and execution of printing after checking a reduced image of the printable file, and therefore the usability of a combined machine 1, i.e. the printing device, is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
