The glass ceramic plate, whose operational base is provided with an annealed coating consisting of a sintered glass ceramic engobe, is claimed. The thermal coefficients of expansion of the glass ceramic plate and the glass-ceramic engobe are same. The glass compositions of the glass ceramic plate and the glass-ceramic engobe are different. The thermal coefficient of expansion of the glass ceramic plate and the glass-ceramic engobe is smaller than the coated glass ceramic plate. The glass-ceramic engobe layer is pigmented, and contains high temperature-stable inorganic pigments. The glass ceramic plate, whose operational base is provided with an annealed coating consisting of a sintered glass ceramic engobe, is claimed. The thermal coefficients of expansion of the glass ceramic plate and the glass-ceramic engobe are same. The glass compositions of the glass ceramic plate and the glass-ceramic engobe are different. The thermal coefficient of expansion of the glass ceramic plate and the glass-ceramic engobe is smaller than the coated glass ceramic plate. The glass-ceramic engobe layer is pigmented, and contains high temperature-stable inorganic pigments, which are formed by metal effect pigments or pearl bright pigments. The engobe layer has a thickness of 5-70 mu m. An independent claim is included for a method for underside coating of a glass ceramic plate.
