PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and material for decellularizing an organ or tissue. and to provide a method and material for recellularizing a decellularized organ or tissue.SOLUTION: A decellularized mammalian organ includes an extracellular matrix including an exterior surface, the extracellular matrix with a vascular tree substantially retaining the morphology of the extracellular matrix prior to decellularization, with the exterior surface being substantially intact. A method for producing a decellularized mammalian organ includes the steps of: producing a cannulated organ by inserting cannulas (A, B and C) into the organ at one or more cavities, vessels, and/or ducts; and perfusing the cannulated organ with a first cellular disruption medium via the one or more cannulations. A method of making an organ to be transplanted to a patient includes injecting regenerated cells into a decellularized organ so as to be engrafted in or on the surface of the decellularized organ for multiplication and/or differentiation as organ. |
