PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a sliding member, capable of forming a coating as a sliding layer in the state of obtaining higher adhesion strength.SOLUTION: A bearing material having even fatigue strength sufficiently obtained is obtained by colliding Cu-(17-45 wt.%) Zn particles with a sliding portion of a base material at a particle velocity of 670 m/sec or more by a cold spray method to form a sliding coating (a first coating) and forming a bearing material (Cu-Sn, etc.) softer than the first coating as a second coating by the cold spray method on the formed coating.SELECTED DRAWING: None
