Automatically visually rendering a multi-dimensional model of a portion of a system 100 having mechanical joints 228-238, such as an unmanned ground vehicle UGV by determining a first physical joint configuration of a first mechanical joint and a second physical joint configuration of a second mechanical joint. A first viewing direction (d234, fig 2) along a rotational axis or perpendicular to a linear extension axis (a234) of the first mechanical joint (234, fig 2) and a second viewing direction (d236, fig2) along a rotational axis or perpendicular to a linear extension axis (a236, fig 2) of the second mechanical joint (236, fig 2) are used to compute an avatar view perspective direction (234-236, fig 2) based on a weighted average of the first and second viewing direction. The perspective view of a visually rendered display of the system 100 is automatically adjusted on a display 124 on a remote control unit 102 based on the avatar view perspective direction (234-236, fig 2). |
