<p>A rotunda house has a circular ground floor with concentric inner and outer walls on a circular foundation plate and with a circular upper floor with a larger diameter than the lower floor. The upper floor is supported on a ring shaped floor whose inner edge is secured to the inner wall of the ground floor. A tapering roof (4) is supported by a lightweight frame with the middle section supported on the lower floor inner wall via pillars. The central atrium holds the staircase. The house is made of a variety of materials with standard size panels and with thermal insulation and service ducts.</p> |
