A car cover clamp device has a base plate 1 with a releasable securing clamp mechanism. A longitudinal tyre guide 2 and a movable tyre stop 3 ensure correct positioning of a road wheel on the base plate when the car is driven onto the base plate. The tyre stop 3 can be fixed to either end of the base plate so that the device can be used on either left or right sides of the car. The releasable clamp mechanism has a fixed clamping plate 4 and a hinged clamping plate 5. With a car cover positioned between the two clamping plates, the hinged clamping plate can be secured in gripping contact with the fixed clamping plate by means of a hinged locking bar 7, threaded stud 9 and winding handle 11. The device allows a car cover to be secured at four points independent of the car body. A handle 14 may be provided on the base plate to aid movement of the device. |
