A tuning method according to a variable key input time and a broadcast receiving apparatus using the same are provided to tune various type of broadcasting according to the key input time of a user, thereby inputting a digital broadcasting channel directly only with a number key without a separate key. A tuning method comprises the following steps of: determining whether the input time of one of at least one key input is more than a predetermined time(S200); allowing a control unit to control a broadcast receiving apparatus to tune digital broadcasting when it is determined that the input time is more than the predetermined time(S300); and allowing the control unit to control the broadcast receiving apparatus to tune analog broadcasting when it is determined that the input time of each of at least one key input is less than the predetermined time(S400).
