A plasmon router 1900 comprises a first plasmon input port 1902, receptive to an input signal 1904 including plasmon energy and a plurality of plasmon output ports 1906 and 1908, transmissive of output signals 1910 and 1912 including plasmon energy. A control structure 1914 is configured to selectively direct plasmon energy to the plasmon output ports in response to control signals 1924, 1926, 1928 and 1930. A portion of the input signal is detected by element 1916 which may include processing circuitry arranged to generate control signals to direct the input signal to a particular output port in response to a characteristic of the input signal. |
