PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a burning appliance with an incomplete combustion preventing function capable of surely informing a sensor replacement time by easily and surely grasping the end of a service life of a gas sensor. SOLUTION: A nonvolatile memory is incorporated in a CO sensor to write the information in manufacturing (S1), and incorporated in a heat source machine (S2) in a manufacturing stage P1. A power source is switched ON (S3, S4) in an installing stage P2 of the heat source machine, a calendar is set (S5, S6), a remaining service life is operated from the information in manufacturing written in the nonvolatile memory, the present date and time information and the set service life information (S7), and an appliance is forcibly stopped (S9) after informing the necessity of replacement when the remaining service life is short (S8). When the remaining service life is more than a prescribed value, an operation of the heat source machine is permitted (S10). The remaining service life is counted while subtracted in accompany with time progression of a calendar timer in an using stage P3 (S11, S12), and the appliance is forcibly stopped (S13) after informing the necessity of replacement of the sensor from a remote controller when the remaining service life becomes short.
