PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heterogeneous catalyst exerting a high activity and a high selectivity, especially a catalyst suitable for oxychlorination to produce 1,2-dichloroethane from ethylene, and a catalyst system.SOLUTION: A heterogeneous catalyst is supported on a porous support and has an integral value of the hysteresis generated between the adsorption isothermal line and the desorption isothermal line in the gas absorption method is 19% or smaller with respect to the total integral value of the adsorption line. A catalyst system for production of 1,2-dichloroethane comprises the catalyst and a diluent having a spherical, pillar or hollow cylindrical shape. |
