PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automated haptic effect accompaniment method for playing media on a device.SOLUTION: A method comprises: initiating the playing of audio/video ("A/V") media on a haptically enabled system/device 301; and identifying the A/V media 302. The method further comprises: discriminating a pre-defined haptic track that corresponds to the identified A/V media 303; and playing the selected pre-defined haptic track synchronized with the playing of the A/V 304.
