PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce calculation cost.SOLUTION: An image evaluation apparatus includes a feature quantity calculation section, a pixel evaluation section, a score accumulation section, and an area evaluation section. The feature quantity calculation section calculates a feature quantity indicating feature of an image, by a pixel position of image data. The pixel evaluation section generates a score by evaluating the feature quantity, by the pixel position of the image data. The score accumulation section calculates a cumulative score by accumulating all scores in a smaller-angle area formed between a semi-straight line extending in a predetermined first direction starting from a pixel of interest, and a semi-straight line extending in a predetermined second direction starting from the pixel of interest, by the pixel position of the image data. The area evaluation section calculates an area evaluation value which is the sum of the scores in a quadrilateral area surrounded by two straight lines parallel in the first direction and two straight lines parallel in the second direction, on the basis of the cumulative score of a pixel position at a vertex of the quadrilateral area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
