PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work position detection device capable of accurately detecting a position of work in a short time.SOLUTION: A work position detection device 1 is provided with a camera 5 having an exposure adjustment function, a storage unit 103, and a control unit 102. The camera 5 images a plurality of works 8 including a reference work to acquire image data and the image data is stored in the storage unit 103. The control unit 102 selects one work 8 from among the plurality of works 8 and sets a selection region corresponding to the selected work 8. A luminance histogram about the selection region is generated from the image data, and an exposure condition in the selection region is calculated so that the luminance histogram about the selection region approximates a luminance histogram about a reference region corresponding to the reference work included in the image data. The selection area is imaged again by the camera 5 under the exposure condition to have partial image data be acquired, and a position of the work 8 selected on the basis of the partial image data is detected. |
