In order to install a kitchen sink in a counter top, a weldable fastening bracket is provided that serves for the attachment of a sink fastening device. The fastening bracket has a flat back portion that comes into contact with a rear side of the kitchen sink and at least one attachment portion extending from a front side of the back portion outwardly for the attachment of the at least one sink fastening device. At its rear side, the back portion carries at least one nub, which is adapted to melt under the effect of an electrical current flowing through the fastening element to the kitchen sink thus forming a weld joint. Moreover, the fastening element has a contact pin portion extending substantially perpendicular from the front side of said back portion and being adapted to be held and electrically connected by a corresponding weld tool. These features allow the fastening bracket be welded to the kitchen sink using capacitor discharge welding, which will significantly reduce backside marking, such as distortion, discoloration, or burning. |
