PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for taking out measured results of a temperature and pressure from an oil well or other blind hole. SOLUTION: This sensor array includes an array of nodes 12 coupled to an optical transmission line 14 and inserted into a hole such as the oil well. The node includes a converter 16, and an encoder 18, and a transmitter 20. The converter detects an environmental condition such as the temperature and pressure. The encoder encodes a read value from the converter 16, using a characteristic frequency, to indicate which node generates the read value. The sensor transmitter 20 transmits the encoded read value to a decoder 22 positioned in the vicinity of the opening part of the oil well or the other blind hole. Power is transmitted to the nodes 12 through the transmission line 14. A photo-electric converter 28 in the node converts optical power into electric energy stored to supply the power to the node.
