PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device capable of suppressing increase in damage to a document when defective conveyance of the document occurs in the middle of conveyance.SOLUTION: The image reading device comprises: a conveyance device 20 which includes a pair of rollers capable of holding a document being conveyed along a conveyance path; reading parts 31 and 32 which read an image of the document being conveyed; a locking device 40 which adjusts a pressure for holding the document by the two rollers of the pair; a defective conveyance detection part 62 which detects defective conveyance of the document in the middle of the conveyance of the document; and an adjustment control part 63 which, when the defective conveyance of the document is detected, controls the locking device 40 to reduce the pressure for holding the document by the two rollers.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
