A three-dimensional modeling apparatus for modeling a three-dimensional object by laminating a plurality of cross section bodies in a Z direction, the three-dimensional modeling apparatus comprising: a head unit for modeling the object by discharging a liquid that is to be a material of the object into each unit grille that is defined in accordance with a modeling resolution of the cross section body in an X direction, a modeling resolution of the cross section body in a Y direction, and a lamination interval of the cross section body in the Z direction; and a control unit for controlling the head unit, wherein the head unit is capable of individually discharging, into the unit grille, a colorless liquid and a plurality of types of colored liquids for expressing a designated color, and the control unit controls the head unit so as to discharge a designated type of colored liquid out of the plurality of types of colored liquids into a first unit grille positioned on a surface side of the object out of two unit grilles adjacent to each other in a direction from a surface of the object to the interior, and discharge, into a second unit grille positioned on an inner side of the object out of the two adjacent unit grilles, one or more types of colored liquids that includes at least one colored liquid of the same type as the colored liquid discharged into the first unit grille, so as to be able to express a color of the surface of the object using the colored liquid discharged into the first unit grille and the one or more colored liquids discharged into the second unit grille.
