PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method with respect to spread spectrum modulation, using a discontinuous spread spectral code that is especially applied to a field of the 3rd-generation electrical communication system for portable telephone. SOLUTION: Spread spectrum codes in use are chip sequences and at least one chip value is 90. The codes are called the discontinuous spread code. A transmission power close to 0 is generated as to a corresponding transmission signal by each of chips, whose values are zero in the discontinuous spread code.
