PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve injection accuracy of sub-injection for injecting into a air cylinder after main injection. SOLUTION: In this exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine, a retrieval means for a minimum corrective amount cylinder retrieves a cylinder having a minimum corrective amount when an injection amount of the main injection supplied from a fuel injection means is corrected so as to suppress rotation variation between cylinders of the internal combustion engine (step 103). A sub injection cylinder determining means determines a cylinder to be applied by the sub-injection based on a retrieval result by the cylinder searching means (step 104 to step 111). Therefore, the injection accuracy of the sub-injection is increased and HC supply amount to an exhaust emission control means is adequately controlled.
