PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ethylenic polymer having high moldability and also exhibiting excellent characteristics such as transparency, low hexane-extractables, low-temperature heat-sealability and strength balance. SOLUTION: When homopolymerizing ethylene or copolymerizing ethylene with a 3-20Cα-olefin using an olefin polymerization catalyst composed of (a) a modified clay compound, (b) at least two transition metal compounds and (c) an organoaluminum compound, the reaction is preferably carried out in a single reaction vessel.
