The present invention relates to a treatment of asthma, eczema and/or allergy in individuals, in particular treatment of infants, for reducing the risk of acquiring asthma, eczema and/or allergy at a later stage in life by administering an effective amount of an antibiotic in order to reduce or eradicate pathogenic bacterial growth in the airways thereby inhibiting pathogenic bacteria in stimulating asthma, eczema and/or allergy through various routes. In particular the individual is an infant. Furthermore, the present invention also includes treatment of pregnant women to prevent their infants from being colonized with bacteria during birth. |
