PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dyeing rush, which reduces occurrence of so-called white root (in the length direction of rush, the root part is white in comparison with the central part) from a rush product as much as possible and a method for producing a rush product. SOLUTION: Rush is bleached for a fixed time and dyed in an environment of atomized tea extracted liquid. The tea extracted liquid contains an antioxidant. In the method for producing a rush product, having a sorting step for classifying rush dyed with mud, a humidification step for humidifying rush classified by the classification step and a weaving step for weaving rush humidified by the humidification step, by a loom, a humidification liquid useful in the humidification step is used as the tea extracted liquid and rush is dyed by the humidification step to give the rush product.
