PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dimming device and a projector the aging degradation of which can be suppressed.SOLUTION: A dimming device 7 for adjusting the passing light quantity of incident luminous flux includes a first light shielding section (light shielding section 732) and a second light shielding section (light shielding section 742) that are inserted into the passage area of the luminous flux and shield at least a part of light of the luminous flux. The first light shielding section (light shielding section 732) and the second light shielding section (light shielding section 742) include incidence planes 7322, 7422 on which light in the passage area is made incident and reflection layers 7323, 7423 which are formed in the incidence planes 7322, 7422 and reflect incident light, respectively.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
