摘要 An example apparatus, such as a quorum server of a quorum system, is caused to receive a route information message or duplication thereof from a node of an ad hoc network including a plurality of nodes, with the node having sent or received the route information message during implementation of a routing protocol to determine a route between the nodes, such as according to a gossip algorithm. The apparatus is caused to identify, based on the route information message, nodes intended to also receive the route information message or intended to be part of the determined route. And the apparatus is caused to prepare an instruction message for transmission to one or more of the nodes such that the identified one or more nodes enter or remain in an active mode, and nodes other than the identified one or more of the nodes enter or remain in a power-saving mode.

An apparatus comprising: at least one processor; and at least one memory including computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to at least: receive a route information message or duplication of the route information message from a node of an ad hoc network including a plurality of nodes, the node having previously sent or received the route information message during implementation of a routing protocol to determine a route between the nodes; identify, based on the route information message, one or more of the nodes intended to also receive the route information message or intended to be part of the determined route; and prepare an instruction message for transmission to one or more of the nodes such that the identified one or more nodes enter or remain in an active mode, and the nodes other than the identified one or more of the nodes enter or remain in a power-saving mode in response to receiving the instruction message, wherein the one or more nodes are configured to enter or remain in the active mode or the power saving mode in response to an absence of receiving the instruction message within a predetermined period.
