PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an automatic return mechanism for a door by a simple cam mechanism. SOLUTION: In the door hinge device composed of a door hinge member 1 being installed on the door 19 side and forming one member and a pillar hinge member 2 being mounted on the frame or pillar 29 side and forming the other member, a shaft section 11 is secured on one-side end section side of the door hinge member 1 while a projecting section 51 is formed in the rectangular direction to the axis of the shaft section 11, and a follower 51 for the cam mechanism 5 is formed by the projecting section. An annular engaging section 21 being engaged with the shaft section 11 and conducting a relative rotary motion with the shaft section 11 is formed on one-side end section side of the pillar hinge member 2. A cam groove 52 engaged with the follower 51 is formed at the place of the engaging section 21. The cam groove 52 consists of an inclined section 525 and a horizontal section 521.
