PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a loading nut after a tension adjustment and achieve an external appearance desirable in design after a tension adjusting device is removed. SOLUTION: This tension adjusting device is removably fitted to tension members 2a and 2b screwed to both ends of a coupler 4 and connected into a straight line shape to adjustably apply tension to the tension members 2a and 2b via hydraulic actions. It is provided with a pair of loading blocks 5 having female screw sections 5a capable of being halved and coupled with the male screw sections 3a and 3b of the tension members 2a and 2b near the outside of both ends of the coupler 4, a pair of reaction beams 6 arranged in contact with the outside end faces of the blocks 5, a pair of dummy bars 7 arranged on both sides along the tension members 2a and 2b and astride a pair of reaction beams 6, and a pair of hydraulic jacks 8 arranged on one-side end sections of the dummy bars 7. The reaction beams 6 press the loading blocks 5 kept in contact with them to the coupler 4 side in response to the actions of the hydraulic jacks 8.
