PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line thermal head which can improve the travel stability of an ink ribbon. SOLUTION: Heating elements 13 of a printing width amount for partially melting ink of the ink ribbon 5 are arranged in a longitudinal direction at one face 12a of a substrate 12 formed nearly flat. An end edge 12d located on the downstream side in a travel direction of the ink ribbon 5 among the one face 12a of the substrate 12 is formed in a curve shape to be most projected at a central part in a width direction of the ink ribbon 5 towards the downstream side in the travel direction of the ink ribbon 5.
