The cover (20) has a display source (12) for overlaying a virtual image projected through an opening of a housing (11) on a windscreen of a vehicle. The cover is designed such that entry of foreign particles inside the housing via the opening is prevented. An image projected from the source reaches through the opening. The cover is wedge-shaped in cross section such that a straight light track of a direct light from an arbitrary point on the source without reflection is aligned with a light track of reflected light from the point, which is twice reflected on inner surfaces of the cover.
