PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barrier film having a substrate layer formed of a carbon neutral polyester resin film using biomass ethylene glycol.SOLUTION: A barrier film has a substrate layer and a vapor deposition layer formed on at least one surface of the substrate layer. The substrate layer is formed of a resin composition containing polyester having a diol unit and a dicarboxylic acid unit as a main component. The resin composition contains 50-95 mass% of polyester in which the diol unit is biomass-derived ethylene glycol and the dicarboxylic acid unit is fossil fuel-derived dicarboxylic acid based on the total resin composition. The vapor deposition layer is formed of a vapor deposition film of an inorganic substance or an inorganic oxide.
