A method and an apparatus for producing carbide using organic waste are provided to minimize the amount of exhaust gas generated according to the production of carbide, reduce drying time to the utmost, and reduce waste content of classified and crushed materials by further simplifying the process of the method and the structure of the apparatus. A method for producing carbide using organic waste comprises: a storage step(S1) of storing collected organic waste; a classifying and crushing step(S2) of discharging the foreign materials and crushing the organic waste while classifying the stored organic waste into foreign materials and organic waste; a mixing step(S3) of mixing the crushed material with injected dried combustible to lower water content of the classified and crushed material; a preliminary drying step(S4) of primarily pre-drying the mixture by hot air with a high temperature; a hot air drying step(S5) of receiving the hot air that has been reduced during the pre-drying to secondly dry a pre-dried material with the hot air; a separating step(S6) of separating incombustible and combustible from the dried material; a combustible storage step(S7) of storing the separated combustible; and a carbonization step(S8) of injecting a predetermined quantity of the stored dried material into a continuous dry distillation type carbonizer to form a carbide, and supplying combustion heat of the dry distillation gas to the pre-drying step. |
