STATION-SIDE OPTICAL COMMUNICATION APPARATUS AND OPTICAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical access communication apparatus and system for making wide-band two PON system coexistent without using expensive optical device or module.

SOLUTION: As a means for solving the problem, an uplink wavelength is made common for a low-speed PON and a high-speed PON. In an OLT, optical signals are received by the same photo-detector in two systems. A signal converted into an electric signal is amplified, then branched and processed through clock and data recovery of a bit rate compatible with two PON systems, thereby achieving an optical communication apparatus and optical communication system constructing a simplified and inexpensive triplexer service system improved in transmission quality.
