摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely adjust the quantity of light imparted to a display area, by restraining influence of a detection error by a variation in performance in photosensors applied to a display device. <P>SOLUTION: The display device has the first photosensor PS1 for detecting the quantity of external light of a display area 11, the second photosensor PS2 for detecting a dark current when shielding the light, changeover switches SW1 and SW2 for selecting the first photosensor PS1 and the second photosensor PS2, a comparator 102 for comparing output of the selected first photosensor PS1 or second photosensor PS2 with a predetermined reference value, and a control means for controlling the quantity of light imparted to the display area in response to this arithmetic operation result by arithmetically operating a difference between a comparison result of the comparator 102 by the first photosensor PS1 and a comparison result of the comparator 102 by the second photosensor PS2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
