PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel having a fishing line guide capable of reducing the release resistance of a fishing line as much as possible and capable of winding the fishing line stably at a casting time.SOLUTION: A fishing reel comprises a spool 5A for winding a fishing line thereon, and a fishing line guide 60 for inserting therethrough the fishing line let off from the spool 5A. The fishing line guide 60 includes a transversely narrow fishing line guide 67 for guiding the fishing line in a taken-up state around the spool, and a transversely wide opening 68 for reducing the release resistance of the fishing line being released. Moreover, a lateral width W of the opening 68 is set at 50% to 200% of a fishing line winding width WS of the spool. An inner side upper position P of the opening 68 is set at 70% to 100% of a radius D of the spool. An inner side lower position P1 of the opening 68 is set at 100% to 120% of a bottom diameter D1 of the spool. |
