PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a failure in electronic components forming a light generation circuit to notify the outside.SOLUTION: An optical power supply-type water-level gauge comprises: a water-level detector G that operates on the basis of power obtained from an optical power supply signal received from the outside and outputs water-level data indicating a water level; a converter T that supplies the optical power supply signal generated by a laser diode to the water-level detector G and applies prescribed data processing to the water-level data obtained from the water-level detector G; a power supply optical fiber C1 that transmits the optical power supply signal from the converter T to the water-level detector G; and a water-level data transmission line C3 that transmits the water-level data from the water-level detector G to the converter T. The converter T comprises a failure diagnosis unit 9 that detects a failure in the laser diode on the basis of the drive current of the laser diode to notify the outside.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
