PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diffraction structure for a liquid crystal display device capable of exhibiting viewing angle expansion characteristics suitable for characteristics as the liquid crystal display device and preventing contrast deterioration due to external light and blurring of an image, by being disposed on an observer side rather than a liquid crystal layer of the liquid crystal display device.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a diffraction structure which generates luminance distribution only in a front surface, an in-horizontal-plane direction, and an in-vertical-plane direction in posture where a liquid crystal display device is vertically stood.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
