PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rock rubble removing apparatus for a shield driving machine, which can efficiently remove rock rubble causing hindrance to earth discharging operation of an earth removing apparatus without depending on manual work of the work force. SOLUTION: When a scraping rod 71 reaches a starting point S by rotation of a cutter head 1 (a), a sliding jack 76 is driven to be extended, and a receiving portion 75 is combined with a rubble holding body 72 in one body, whereby they move in a horizontal rear direction from the side of a base 70 together with a sliding cylinder 73. Thus, the rubble holding body 72 protrudes from the base 70 (b). When the scraping rod 71 reaches a lowermost location in an earth housing chamber, it scrapes up rock rubble and throws down the same into a barrel holding surface of the rubble holding body 72, and when the scraping rod 71 is detected to have reached a rock rubble discharging point, the cutter head 1 stops its rotation to open a first openable door 81. Then, a retaining wall of a rubble container is opened to the earth housing chamber, and further first and second squeezing cylinders 77, 78 simultaneously protrude toward the rubble container side, whereby the rock rubble held in the holding surface of the rubble holding body 72 is pressed into the rubble container.
