PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate type heat pipe which can be mass produced inexpensively, and its producing method. SOLUTION: The plate type heat pipe 1 has a laminate structure of an intermediate plate 3 and two sheets of surface plate 5, 7 sandwiching the intermediate plate 3. The intermediate plate 3 has side face folded continuously into rectangular shapes by press bending and U-shaped parts are arranged alternately on the side face. Opposite sides of the U-shaped part serve as the side walls of the thin hole in the plate type heat pipe 1 and the intermediate sides serve as the upper and lower walls of the thin hole.
