摘要

[PROBLEMS] Charging facility for electric railway vehicle not using a stringing is bulky and expensive. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A charger comprises a rectifier for rectifying AC power into DC power, a series circuit of an electric double-layer capacitor and a chopper connected in parallel with the rectifier, and a current delivering/receiving section for supplying the electric vehicle with charges from the electric double-layer capacitor and charging the electric double-layer capacitor mounted on the electric vehicle. The facility is reduced in size by applying this charger to a vehicle including the electric double-layer capacitor and a power converting section having a regeneration function.
