PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation detection device having high reliability by having a wide wavelength selection of a light generating unit and efficiently reducing the reflected light of a scintillator layer for improving the image quality in the radiation detection device that requires calibration of light. SOLUTION: The radiation detection device includes a sensor panel 100 for arranging the scintillator layer 11 for converting a radiation into light on a photoelectric conversion element array 12 arranged two-dimensionally; and a light-generating part 102 for irradiating the photoelectric conversion element array 12 with a light that includes a polarizing plate 101 between the light-generating unit 102 and the sensor panel 100. The light that passes through the sensor panel 100 by light emission of the scintillator layer 11 is refracted, becomes a reflected light in the light-generating part 102 and pass through the polarizing plate 101; and the component that reaches the photoelectric conversion element array 12 of the sensor panel 100 becomes a trace amount.
