<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for a liquid crystal display device suppressing rupture of an element or the like formed on the substrate for the liquid crystal display device by static electricity after the substrate for the liquid crystal display device is segmented for every liquid crystal cells. <P>SOLUTION: This substrate 100 for the liquid crystal display device includes a glass substrate 1 having a plurality of liquid crystal cell areas 2, a color filter 5 formed on the surface of each liquid crystal area 2 of the glass substrate 1, and a conductive light shielding film 3 formed on the surface of each liquid crystal cell area 2 of the glass substrate 1.
