Provided are: a photoelectric conversion element having a conductive support, a photosensitive layer including an electrolyte, an electric charge transfer layer including an electrolyte, and a counter electrode, wherein the photo sensitive layer has semiconductor fine particles carrying a metal complex dye represented by a specific formula; a dye-sensitized solar cell; and the metal complex dye and a dye solution used for the photoelectric conversion element and the dye-sensitized solar cell.
