The arrangement comprises, a seat (4) attached to the front legs (2), a handle (5) pivotally attached (10) to the rear legs (3), a backrest (8) supported by a frame member (9) and two adjustment mechanisms (11-17). The mechanisms include, a rail (11) having recesses (11A-11C) attached to the frame member (9), a slider (13) incorporating a lever (14) with a projection (14A) and a link (17) pivotally connected at one end to the slider (13) and the handle (5) at the other. The lever (14) is biassed by a spring (15) to ensure the projection (14A) cooperates with one of the recesses (11A-11C). Adjustment of the inclination of the backrest is achieved by pressing the lever (14) to disengage the projection (14A) which allows the slider to move along the frame member (9) raising or lowering the top edge of the backrest (8).
