PURPOSE: An intermediate shaft of low weight having high intensity is provided to be applied to the front-wheel drive motor vehicle and to economically manufacture itself. CONSTITUTION: The intermediate shaft(8) includes two main parts:a first part(12) having its six runway tracks(14) on the left and right side and forming a ball-shaped pot or bowl(13B) of a sliding joint(7B) used for accepting the male element of the joint within the modified area inside of the radial direction; and a second part(19) is the connecting end piece of the intermediate shaft(8), of which outer spline end part(20) is fixed inside of the spline end piece of the first part(12) and the connecting end piece is including the external collar pressing the end face of the first part(12).
