PURPOSE: A power control method is provided to decrease power consumption by switching the electric power of a mobile phone according to a receptive sensitivity. CONSTITUTION: An intensity of a signal received through an antenna of the mobile phone is first detected and a set minimum receptive sensitivity is read out. The intensity of the signal received and the set minimum receptive sensitivity are compared. When the intensity of the signal received is higher than the set minimum receptive sensitivity, a reserved power is turned off but a main power is turned on while the intensity of the signal received is lower than the set minimum receptive sensitivity, a reserved power is turned on but a main power is turned off. Thus, electric power consumption is decreased by using only the reserved power when the receptive sensitivity is very low.
