PURPOSE: A cylinder type check valve for a scroll compressor is provided to reduce an operating noise of the check valve and prevent a reverse rotation when stopping. CONSTITUTION: The cylinder type check valve comprises; a piston shaped piston valve(24) and a cylinder housing(25) with a stopper(25") and a through-hole formed in the upper area in the middle; a cylinder supporting ring(26) to supporting ring(26) to support the housing and keep a discharge way when the piston valve goes up. By discharging foreign substance formed in the piston valve(24) outer wall or inner wall of the housing(20) through discharge holes(27,28) the movement of the piston valve(24) in the cylinder housing is made smooth to reduce an operating noise.
