Process for shaping workpieces from material strips uses an auxiliary shaping agent and a tool that at least partly or completely penetrates the material strips along a contour. The auxiliary shaping agent is applied to one or both sides of the material strips only along the contour of the workpiece before shaping of the workpiece. Preferred Features: The auxiliary shaping agent is applied to both sides of the material strips along the contour during the shaping process or in a step before shaping.
